It’s finally June, and the warm weather is here to stay, maybe more like hot and humid weather, knowing Virginia. Here in Richmond, it’s definitely been more than warm lately with temperatures in the 80's °F, and this week is supposed to be even hotter with a possible high of 94°F on Wednesday. A nice warm day is wonderful, but when it’s so hot out that I sweat just by standing outside, then it’s not quite so wonderful. In hot weather when I’m not at a pool or the beach, I need clothes that don’t weigh down on me while the sun is shining.
Clothes made out of linen are great for when it gets warmer. Linen is a fairly breathable material, plus it’s one of the more sustainable materials used in clothing. I found this yellow linen jumpsuit from the clothing company Everlane, and I got the straw hat last summer from Target. Everlane is a great choice when shopping for new items because the company is incredibly transparent. They work with ethical factories, use sustainable materials, and provide all of the information about the cost of each piece of clothing to shoppers. The description of each clothing item includes a breakdown of the costs that went into making it, including materials, labor, transport, and duties. This jumpsuit is the first item that I’ve purchased from Everlane, but I can tell that it will last a long time because the items that the company makes are made to last. Their prices may be more expensive compared to say H&M, but you’re paying for the quality of the item and the timeless style that will outlast the current trends.
Now, I don’t typically go for rompers or jumpsuits because they typically don’t fit me. I’m 5 ft. 9 in. with a fairly long torso, and a broad build, so it can be difficult to find one pieces like rompers that fit. I was surprised with how well this jumpsuit fit me. It’s long enough for my legs and for my torso, and it doesn’t feel constricting on my chest and shoulders. I think this bright yellow jumpsuit is a great option for the summer, whether you’re going for a walk around the neighborhood or having a picnic!
In addition to the Everlane jumpsuit, I’ve included a variety of jumpsuits options that range in price from under $50 to under $100, and I’ve included a couple straw hat options to protect yourself from the sun!

I love jumpsuits because they're super easy pieces that you can just pull on and off you go. These options are all great, so I may be adding another jumpsuit to my wardrobe in the near future!
